The owner of the house was so kind and sweet. Her house was absolutely beautiful. She told us of her experiences in the house and some experiences that ghost hunters and paranormal teams had experienced. My oldest granddaughter said she thought she had seen something on the house security monitor on the 3rd floor. We would like to go back in the near future.

I'm big into paranormal videos/movies and wanted to do TALA due to it's history and resident ghosts. I went with my best friend and we both found out that I'm a BIG CHICKEN! LOL! When we entered the first ward I was so scared I hid behind her (and she's shorter than me!) that's how scared I was. There's A LOT of walking (we did the overnight ghost tour), and I chickened out doing the 4th floor which is the scariest floor of all. Regardless we had a blast! I caught an orb on camera, a couple of ghosts and we both saw 3 shadow people standing at the end of a couple of the wards. It will be a trip she and I will remember for years to come!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PLACE!! We were just driving through and I happened to see the asylum sign. I love paranormal places, and have always seen this place on youtube videos. I wasn’t sure where exactly it was though. I was so excited to tour the grounds. The building is in very good condition considering the age. They definitely take care of the area. Although I didn’t really see any ghosts (it was a daytime tour mid-morning in April), we did see the lights flicker on our tour. Lots of interesting and sad history here. I would highly recommend, especially if you’re a lover of psychology like I am.

I wish we had booked a day tour that covers the history of the asylum. Instead, our teens opted to do a 2 hrs night tour, which they liked a lot to be fair. I could tell that most visitors were ghosts enthusiasts. But if you are not into paranormal activities, then it is a pretty boring tour. You just wonder around the asylum in the dark; your guide tells about resident ghosts, but you don't learn any history of the place. Ultimately, we seemed mismatched for this particular tour. We were there in August. It was very hot inside of the building, make sure to bring a bottle of water.
