The Occidental Hotel, located in the historic town of Buffalo, Wyoming, is listed as THE MOST HAUNTED location in the State of Wyoming! Also, if you're a fan of the hit series, Longmire, it is the home to Craig Johnson's famous Busy Bee restaurant.
Let me begin by mentioning that the bullet holes, in the ceiling of the bar, are REAL...
The West was wild... No question about it.
There were ranch hands and blacksmiths, cowboys and cowpunchers, lawmen, and outlaws. No matter the man, no matter their differences, the place that was the same to each of them was The Occidental Hotel and Saloon.
Visitors from the wild, wild west include that of Buffalo Bill, Owen Wister, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, Calamity Jane, and Teddy Roosevelt.
The Occidental Hotel is impressive. It’s massive. Long hallways, with dark corners and ghostly tales. Things do go bump in the night. Floors creak, and footsteps are echoed when no one is seen walking down the hall. Voices are heard, in the early, early morning hours of the saloon, and more than one of the guest rooms have been known to give its guests an restless night’s stay.
The ghosts are real, including that of a child named Emily who died there. She was a daughter to one of the many prostitutes who did business at The Occidental, where the clients would make their way up the back staircase, to The Bordello Suite, and spend their week's wages.
